experimenting with medical marijuana (relief)

I am 67 years old and am in severe pain all the time. It started 3 years ago as occasional and has progressed into all day everyday. I got a medical marijuanna card and am now experimenting with the gummies. I ate a whole one and couldn't get off the bed,felt like I couldn't even lift my hand. NO PAIN but I couldn't funtion either. So now I'm trying taking 1/4 of one every 4 hours. Praying for good outcome. Would love to hear others experiences

Are you taking a sativa? Those strains will actually give you energy, provide pain relief while still allowing your body & brain to function and stay active, and enable you to continue doing your normal everyday things like clean the house, walk the dog, whatever etc.. Indica's will knock you right out, for instance, if you have trouble sleeping @ night, you would take an indica. Indicas are perfect for someone who does wish to (or must) lie around in bed, and provides extreme mental & physical relaxation, often to the point of sedation.


Sativa vs Indica: It's kind of like the difference between "uppers" and "downers", or day and night, depending on your needs, if that makes sense.

sativa. Like I said my pain was gone but I couldn't move so I guess I need to learn how much and how often to take

How many mg thc per gummy?

Have not tried it yet but considering it. I have severe arthritis pain in my feet and only sleep 3-4 hours a night. Recreational is legal here. Can't take most pain meds because of chronic kidney disease. How can I be sure what kind I am getting? Any way to find out if it interacts with any other med?

That’s a good start, the cbd actually counter acts the thc a little.

Look on the packaging, it should say the thc content either total package, or by each gummy, in mg.

Example, If it says 1,000 mg thc and there are 100 gummies, 1000/100= 10mg thc per gummy.

Where I live you can get candy sized single serving pieces at 100 mg. A lot of gummies can come in as high as 25-50 mg per piece.

Just because you ate one and it knocks you on your butt doesn’t mean you only ate one “dose”.

A good starting dose is 10mg thc.
