If so, what motel would you recommend? Tripadvisor reviews are mixed and often old.

Know anything about the new Hol. Inn Express?

We don't want to stay on the East end if we can avoide it, and would like to stay in an area where we can walk without fear of being mowed down by passing traffic!

Don't want a B&B or that former schoolhouse.

Many thanks for any info.

Jann

If it's a new HI Express, I'd stay there. I like that chain, and have stayed in them in other AZ cities.

Good luck--we stayed in a Globe hotel two years ago and it was one of the worse hotels we ever stayed in. They don't seem to have many hotels that look that savory from the outside. However, there is one on the east side that they were remodeling when we were looking and is now open and looks nice from the outside. I was just there this past weekend, but I didn't think it has a Holiday Inn sign. Perhaps I wasn't looking close enough. Anyhow, go with this newest. That is my advice...

OK, thanks.

We just found out there's some kind of festival going on the week we planned to visit Globe. We're going to Pinetop instead! And staying in something called the "Romance Room". Woo-hoo!
