Hi, I may go to Arizona this summer. I'm from Texas.Should I be worried about the Arizona bark scorpion when I visit you all's great state?I read that the scorpion is potentially lethal when I was in elementary school.I'm healthy. I'm 21 years old and a man. Thanks in advance. Is the scorpion in all areas of the state? We would be flying into Phoenix on Southwest, and going to Northern Arizona.

Scorpion's are actually quite common in certain parts of Arizona. One tip is to NEVER walk around in bare feet - especially in desert areas.

BTW, I've lived in Arizona for over 60 year's

Western, you should be aware, but not too concerned seeing that the scorpions don't want to be discovered by humans. I doubt you'll see one during your visit but in case you do know this: simple hairspray kills them! Since they breath through their stigmata on the underside of the belly the spray clogs the pores and they end up suffocating. We experimented with this when we found them in our house when our daughters were young and had a 100 percent success rate. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Haha, that's good to know, I've 'experimented' with killing cockroaches with hairspray and it works pretty good too, I think it gums up the works or stuns them enough to get rid of them at least! But it makes you wonder if hairspray is poisonous for us humans too...
