Hi,
I am moving to Cornville, AZ the first of June!
My son is going into 9th grade and I have been told that we can choose between Mingus HS or Red Rock HS.
Mingus HS in Cottonwood got a 7 out of 10 on Great Schools and Red Rock HS in Sedona got a 9 out of 10. If he goes to Mingus there is bus service and the school is only 8 miles from our house, and if he goes to Red Rock i will have to drive him and it is 19 miles from our house.
He has gone to school in Los Angeles County since kindergarten in a very affluent area, so I want to make the choice where he will not be in too much culture shock. Are the kids in Verde Valley welcoming to new comers? Is there anything he could do this summer to help him meet some of the high school kids?
Does anyone have any experience with either of these schools? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
