I'm looking for the name of an artist originating from either India or Pakistan, although I suppose technically India.
He spoke in a documentary called India and Pakistan: A Documentary on War and Hate Between the Divided People, but I cannot find the point in the 1.5 hour film where he is introduced by name. Since this looked recent enough, I suppose he may still very well be alive if that helps narrow it down.
There's a blurb near the end where he explains that the theme of all his art after the 1940's was the brutality of partition. It showed a few examples and I liked them. I don't know much about styles of painting, so I don't know how to describe them.
This is all the information I can go by, unfortunately. So, if you have the faintest idea who this might be, that would be fantastic!
