Hello everyone, just looking for some recommendations for places to travel, looking at going to southeast asia for the 1st time in late september (i know that is rainy season in that area), looking for any suggestions for places to go maybe with a similar vibe like Luang Prabang which I hear is really nice and relaxed (LP is my first choice but cant go)..... i know siem reap is popular but i'm looking for less touristy

Well Cambodia Kep and especially Kampot come to mind. LP is very nice, shame to miss it. What about the riverside town Van Vieng, also in Laos? It's been ten years since there but enjoyed it although the rafting, I believe is no longer.
The old favourites like Chang Mai in Thailand or Penang in Malaysia. But really most of South East Asia is on the tourist route, or at the very least the Backpacker scene to be away from tourist trappings to any large extent. I expect you don't want to remove yourself completely from 'the grid'.?

Less touristy? Luang Prabang is tourist central for the entire nation of backpackers who visit Laos. If you don't want tourists, there are a lot of cities in Laos where tourists don't go. But every single one of them will go to Luang Prabang.
That being said, I have noticed that most people want tourist infrastructure....which will have the tourists. So, it's kind of a lose-lose if tourists bother a person.
That being said, Siem Reap will have a ton more tourists.
It's sort of a bit of both, you want some tourist infrastructure, but don't want it to be overly touristy. I'd say Lima in Peru is a good example of a place that sorta accomplishes both. Has a lot of touristy things to do (as long as you are not lazy and can do half an hour of research), but doesn't feel very touristy at all.

100% agree with that statement. Loved Lima when I visited.
