"How can Japan become the slaves of Americans after this much of crulism Japan should be against USA not with USA how long they will be in shadows of USA" - azhar asim
I was reading through the comment section of this video:
and came across that comment and realized..... you know what, that's true.... why is Japan allied with the nation who atomic bombed them twice and murdered so many of its people.
So why is Japan still allied with the USA and when is Japan going to stop being under the shadows of the USA?
Do you honestly believe China would be friends with the US if it hadn't gone Communist? If you do, I would say you are insanely naive.
Why wouldn't it be? China was a U.S. ally before the Communist overthrow, and the de facto continuation of nationalist China still exists under our protection in Taiwan. I'm sure had the Nationalists not been overthrown, they'd have been all too happy to have us in their corner throughout the Cold War what with them sharing a giant-ass border with the Soviet Union.

Nobody knew what could happen if China didn't fall under communist rule.
China was a U.S ally in WWII, so was Russia. After the war ended, the order had to change.
Actually, if China suddenly became a normal country(not communist) like the EU and US, all the major countries would be U.S allies. So how to find a decently sized enemy?

They discovered (as others before and since) that it is much more prudent and profitable to be allies with the USA instead of enemies.
Okinawa remained US territory for 27 years until it was handed back to Japan in 1972, after the Vietnam war, and US bases there had nuclear weapons. Even then few Americans knew about that'
Because they knew they would gain a lot more by being an ally to the US than being an enemy. Aligning with the US makes Japan the second largest economy in the world in the 60s, aligning with the USSR you end up a ****hole like China. It's pretty obvious which route one'd choose.
They're distant allies. Despite their conflict that left Japan devastated 75 years ago, it's a pretty good relationship since their geographic, language and cultural distance lets Japan retain most of their culture without much interference. Due to proximity and shared history, countries in Asia have a different picture of Japan than the US-- often not a favorable one, but nonetheless, a more in-depth perception.
It's like being married to somebody who doesn't tell you their complicated history, and only shows you their changed ways, and you blissfully don't ask questions, or don't even know what questions to ask.
It's by no means ideal or what the country wants, but it might be the most favorable one for Japan after the war.

China was a U.S. ally before and after WWII until the Communist overthrow, not just an ally of convenience during the war. And I doubt the Soviet Union / Russia would have remained a U.S. ally after WWII though they may have been less belligerent if they'd had a massive U.S. client state sitting right on their border.
