If they didn't have to go thru anything religious, then sure. Aside from that its too expensive for us, anyway.

No. Aside from the money issue, the mission of most religious schools is to drain the child's rationality and make them become obedient servants to their myths and superstition.

Luckily I live in an area with very good schools. If only religious schools were the option, my kids would be home schooled while I looked for a job in a town where this was not needed.

My parents (who are not Catholic) sent me to a Catholic high school because it supposedly had a better education than the public high school. Interestingly, 9th grade theology class (taught by a nun) is when I first learned that it is OK to question the bible and religious authorities. That's also where I learned about the pagan meanings/origins to parts of mass. In hindsight I don't think the quality of my education was any better, but at least there were fewer distractions/discipline problems. So I guess my answer is that it depends on the individual school. I would never in a million years send my daughter to a southern baptist school. I think their fire and brimstone attitude borders on abusive and the thought of creationism/intelligent design being taught as science makes me sick.

There is no doubt that many Catholic schools provide quality education, but if I sent my kids to one I'd likely have to deprogram them every night.

LOL!

if i'm allowed to remark on that last one, i would start deprogramming elsewhere.

did any catholic educators ever win the nobel prize for their ('other' private) school of thought?

Very interesting question.

But I'd have to move to a better school system. That would be too much deprogramming everyday.

I just wish a child of mine would come home one day and tell me I'm going to hell! Won't have it!!
