i'm thinking about checking out quad/spring4th tonight myself. haven't heard much about it, but what little i do is entirely positive.

still, atl seems to be right near the bottom tier of cities when it comes to electronic music, unfortunately. i know far too many people who claim to just not care for it, and personally i wish there was more of a scene for a metro of this size... even more unfortunate - dubstep seems to have taken over what used to be a relatively impressive and growing dnb scene. i suppose it's not as hard to dance to for most, fits in with that slow southern theme...

anyway - atlanta used to be quite an industrial city, moreso than many give it credit for. lots of old factories and mills here, and we did a swell job at neglecting them long enough for the conversion trend to come around.

Ahhhh, dubstep gets a bit annoying. Only a few Dubstep artist I enjoy like Ramadanman and Martyn

I was/still am a huge soulful DnB fan but I gravitate towards deep house as this is my true love. Not the cheesy Italian Disco house or progressive crao.

I wont be ready to move for about a year but I'm coming to visit in June/July for like 2 weeks to check things out.

241 Maynard Terrace 43, Atlanta, GA 30316 (http://www.frontdoor.com/listing/151936-4159751/241-Maynard-Terrace-43-Kirkwood-Atlanta-GA-30316 - broken link) PROBABLY NOT - pretty far from stuff, although East Atlanta (15 min walk) is a cool area, Kirkwood (to the north) is alright

.

After reading the top post, I immediately thought Stacks might be a good fit for you housing-wise: Atlanta Loft Condos - Loft Condominiums Now Selling - The Stacks

Cabbagetown is right next door. Not big on electronica there, but super cool scene.

If you like the industrial feel, you should *absolutely* check out the Westside (a.k.a. West Midtown) when you're here. Lots of good bars with the rooftop drinking options, more laid back than Midtown, diverse mix of young folks. Take a look at White Provision (you'll dig the brick building) on Howell Mill and the lofts lining the Howell Mill/Marietta Street corridor. There are more rentals than condos, I think, but you might find some things that interest you. You may want to look on Huff Road on the Westside as well, though the walkability isn't quite as good there.

I don't know about you guys but I'm constantly seeing/being invited to dance events on Facebook. I have the right people/groups "likes" but Atlanta is more then enough for me in the dance music department especially with places like Quad and Opera among many other bars/clubs that have parties/events and the monthly dance parties like F*ck Yesss(electrohouse/house) and Heavy(dubstep).

Dude, maybe you should consider Detroit. For what you would pay for a loft here in Atlanta, you could own your own industrial building up there. Besides Detroit is world known for its electronic music scene, hosting the annual DEMF festival and not to mention being the birthplace of "Techno". As an agnostic you will be welcomed with open arms there since God's done turned his back on Detroit.

OP, where you choose to live will have a huge impact on how religious everyone around you seems. Do NOT live in the burbs if you don't want to come in contact with religion often/ever.
There are meetups and the like as well and I haven't heard that they are much different. What I do hear often is that many agnostics in Atlanta are "in the closet". What I hear from male agnostic friends is that they have a very difficult time finding females who are not religious.

I've looked at Detroit and have investment property up there. I just can't stand the weather. I go to the Movement festival every year and have a lot of buds from there.
