If the purpose is simply to apply the same rules to welfare recipients as we have from our employers, I would think we'd have better use of our money, especially given the lack of funding we're already experiencing.
Government probably won't pay 30 bucks but, then again? Yeah they will probably pay $50......$5 for the test, $10 for the report, $10 for the taster, and $25 for the guy handing mouthwash to the taster afterwards along with a napkin.....but I digress.....

I am sure they can outsource that for $20 a pop.....if the applicant fails, make them pay....if they pass, they get the money back....at least they will have earned something...in this case a free pi$$ test! Something probably for nothing.....I say test em'. Probably get some new youtube video with some crackhead rambling on about national security or some other unrelated nonsense just like the wall street protesters. Should be a hoot.

Agreed.

Also, I feel that any universal drug test program is an unreasonable search upon your person.

If the government has no evidence or probable cause to believe that you are using illegal drugs, you shouldn't be required to prove your innocence.

I totally agree.

I also agree with the posters who have suggested that the state legislature pass a law requiring all state legislators, attorneys, law makers, and employees pass random drug tests beginning now.

On paper I like the idea of testing assistance users but I feel it is a waste of time and money IRL.

Anyone calculate what that 3 percent was costing versus the cost to test? How do we know it was 3 percent? Where is the data? Who wrote it?
