Who do you think won the 28 county Metro Atlanta area in the 2012 presidential election? Remember, this region encompasses Fulton, Dekalb and Clayton but it also reaches Forsyth, Heard, Dawson and Walton counties. So it's a huge area with different political leanings. As it turns out, Metro Atlanta was the closest major metro area in the country. Barack Obama barely won the region with 49.5% of the 28 county vote. Is this close to your original guess?

28 county metro, holy smokes that's pretty big. That's seems too far to be considered a metro. No wonder the TSPLOST got shot down.

TSPLOST for Atlanta was only voted on by 10 counties
