Okay you all have been so helpful.

help me narrow it down:

House #1 - S. Morningside just a couple blocks up from Amsterdam
House #2 - Lake Claire - just N. of McLendon

Neighborhood differences?
Morningside elem vx. Mary Lin?
Kids around?
Park options & chances for interaction w/neighborhoods.

anything else?

thanks all - I know I'm perseverating but its so hard to make these big decisions from so far away.

Whatever you decide, and whatever people say/advise...I just want to say:

Awesome choices...and Congratulations.

(Based on your criteria--my choice for you...Lake Claire-Mary Lin!)

Either one would be great. Just choose the house you like best.

Thanks. we're trying. might have to make one more visit before the big move, but I'm feeling more comfortable with it all.

I would say Morningside. Lake Claire is still a little sketchy and you will have a much greater chance of your house getting broken into. Morningside has a lot of children now and also great parks. Best intown neighborhood for kids in my opinion, along with Virginia-Highlands.

Thanks elvez - why didn't you speak up before I committed I guess that's what security systems are for. I liked Morningside a lot - but we couldn't find a house that worked. oh well.

Mama23,
We are considering the same neighborhoods and schools, and would love your perspective. Did you think you made the right choice? Are you still living in Lake Claire? What do you like/dislike about it? How are the schools? Safety?
Thanks so much, we are also far away and trying to decide....
