My family just inherited several jewelry boxes of costume jewelry (from the 1940's to 1980's)from a relative . We would like to have the pieces professionally appraised but have no clue where to start . We are open to going anywhere in Atlanta area if need be . Thanks in advance.

Have you called an appraiser of fine jewelry see if they know anyone who does appraisal of fine costume ? You might want to ask dealers of fine antiques if they know anyone. You could also call Red baron's antiques to see if they know anyone.
Good luck.

Too bad that the Marietta Streetfest just concluded. This used to be called the Marietta Antique Festival and there are often several vendors there that specifically sell costume jewelry from the time period you noted.

I bought a few items several years ago and had a great time talking to them about the pieces they were very knowledgeable about the specific designers etc. I am sure they could point you in the right direction.

Definitely look for similar antique festivals in the area for this type of advice.
