So sad. I was born in 92 and grew up hearing him on the radio while in the car with my parents and eventually while driving on my own.

That is very sad to hear as I've listened (and navigated) to Captain Herb's traffic reports during many a metro Atlanta rush hour.

So sad, I just heard him Friday afternoon. This is a wake up call for all of us that life hangs by a thread, and these cities we fight and squabble over are going to be here long after we are all gone.

He died doing what he did best: Helping a stranded motorist. God Bless Captain Herb. He's a fine example of an Atlanta public servant. Traffic reporting wasn't just a job to him; it was a passion and a service. Flying around the skies of Atlanta, you knew listening to him that he really did care about those people stuck down on the roads below.

He'll be greatly missed.

He was a familiar voice on WSB.

Wasn't sure about the value of a helicopter report though in this day and age.

Wow. You manage to put a negative spin on everything, even somebody's death. That's just pathetic.

I just noticed the same thing...I would hate to lurk around another city's threads just to make controversial comments. I mean, move on already.

Are you serious?? Just go away from posting about this, you have no feeling about anything. I don't know who you are, but you are an embarrassment to yourself. You need to think about your own mortality.
