Hi all,
Asking for my cousin.

3 kids
elementary, middle, and high

10th grader is bright and somewhere on the autism spectrum with an IEP
Other kids are good students.

Schools and commute to federal pen. are top priority.

Budget I am guessing in the mid 200s for a single-family home.

I would love for them to be somewhere in East Cobb, but it seems about equally distant to Peachtree City. Would West Cobb be a good option? What is the best high school cluster there?

Or maybe there is another good option.

Are you talking about the one near Chosenwood Park? I live in Ormewood park just a few miles away and it is great. They are about to re-open the new Jackson High School and there are a lot of good Charter schools.

If the suburbs are more your style, pick something on the south side otherwise traffic will kill you.

Hello, d-girl.

*OK--if your cousin will be working at the Federal Pen, then the South Metro is the way to go. Coming from the Northside/East Cobb, etc. would be too much since it would require going past Downtown Atlanta and going further to the southeast.

*It also seems that you are suggesting a more suburban location would be ideal--with a lot or at least some of the amenities of suburbs like East Cobb (housing, school, neighborhoods, commute, etc.).

*Based on what I just wrote here is what I recommend:

1. The Union Grove High Cluster in Henry County
~a 25-35 minute commute to the Federal Pen.
~about 18-25 miles from the Federal Pen (depending where you are in the district)
~Great schools--top cluster in Henry County!
~Beautiful neighborhoods/homes.

The neighborhood around the Federal Pen is extremely terrible and probably more dangerous than actually being IN the Federal Pen!

All of them would offer at least a decent amount of diversity.

What are you looking for in terms of a home/neighborhood/school? Where is your job?

What kind of diversity are you looking for?

The least diverse from the lists above are probably Starr's Mill, McIntosh, and Whitewater--but all three still offer diversity.

Do you mean "diversity" as in "a mix of many different races and ethnicities" or "diversity" as in the code that many on this site use to mean "majority African-American?" Not trying to stir the pot; just trying to make sure everyone understands what you're asking for.
