a meeting with school staff.

Parents also may discuss some of the racial tension students, in taking to social media in the wake of Clyne’s removal, are saying has long existed at the school.
It started with a tweet that didn’t gain much traction in the fall: someone had spliced the Lakeside High School viking with the stars and bars, in Lakeside’s purple and gold colors.

Wednesday, after learning principal Jason Clyne was being investigated for allegedly using racial slurs during a meeting with school janitors and security guards, some students took to social media to decry race as an issue at the school.
Several black students said it was about time the issues came to light.
It didn’t end there, as a student with access to a friend’s Twitter account posted screen grabs of the teen’s conversation with another student. Both were white.
“There’s no proof (to what Clyne) did, but the n——— are freaking out,” one student says.

“N——— doing what n——— do best,” the other replied.
The students later apologized for what they had said, saying they did not intend harm. Other students on Twitter railed against them, saying the damage was done.
DeKalb School District officials have not said anything about the latest tweets.

Is this seriously happening at a diverse Dekalb school. You'd think this was in some rural county by the looks of it. Smh

So much for this so-called "post-racial" generation. That concept was a crock of $%#+ to begin with.

There was a study that said that Millennials are more racist than their parents and grand parents. Ironic, right?

Interesting. Well in the Internet/social media age they definitely have more avenues in which to express their racist sentiments, that's for sure.

Seriously. That is a complete sham. Racism is something you learn from your family and peer group, so as long as there are old racists, there will be young racists.

This is true. I also think if black folks are offended by the use of the n word, they really shouldn't use it towards each other either, otherwise they're being a hypocrite, and yes the word is the same whether it ends in ger or gga.

Considering how some act about Dekalb County is so problematic because it's a majority black jurisdication, I'm not surprised. It seems like this is about right...

At my child's school they had a talk about that. Everyone was asked to stop using it. If kids don't hear it so often, they are much less likely to use it.
