Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find a place for a quick photo shoot ... I'm thinking of something like a big field with tall grasses or wildflowers. It could be something as simple as a pretty spot near a rest stop or on the side of the road - nothing fancy necessary. I just want it to be natural and rural looking - no people, buildings, etc in the background.

Does anyone have any ideas? We'd be coming from Midtown so something within an hour from there would be great ...

Thanks!

If no one answers you should try Google Earth (or Maps) and use the satellite view. Not sure what you have in mind exactly but pretty much everything outside of Atlanta is forest so it probably won't be easy. There's bound to be something though.

Drive north to Cherokee County. Plenty of open pastures just past Woodstock and Canton.

Kennesaw National Battlefield Park has several open field areas and everything around them is mature forested areas. One of the best areas is Cheatham Hill

There is a small field of sunflowers off of Hwy. 9 about 3ish miles north of Macfarland in Alpharetta. I don't know if they're blooming now, but when they are, they're really pretty. Probably about a 30 minute drive from midtown if there's no traffic.

We used to have just the sort of spot you're looking for but it has been sold. I always loved those flowers though.

Giving this a bump for any new spots or perhaps places for tulip / cherry blossom festivals.

Tulips will be on Peachtree St I think? Downtown roundabout Woodruff Park.

it's a bit early for wildflowers and grasses yet. they are just waking up. Daffodils are the only up and at 'em right now.

The eastside BeltLine trail has been planted as a natural, wildflower meadow.
