Hi! I've been searching these forums for something that relates to my question but couldn't find anything so here goes!
I am in Charlotte and want to pursue a career in film production. Atlanta is my first choice due to proximity, cost of living, and high volume of productions. I see there are some meet up groups for films, but I want to confirm if these groups are still meeting - since the industry can be fluid, I know things change season to season... Can anyone advise me of good current networking groups that will be meeting Summer 2015?
And my second question: I do runway and fashion modeling here in Charlotte regularly. I would like to continue this in Atlanta, maybe even grow in my career, since there is more of a market here. What are the best modeling agencies? (I've heard of Factor and Click) Who are the show producers and when do they hold casting calls? If there is anyone in the fashion industry reading this, please send me a pm.
I have plenty of friends in the acting world, but that is not for me. Any advice on landing a PA job?

There is a film and production group called "Get Connected" that hosts monthly meetings and mixers. The web address is

In regards to fashion related events, I suggest reaching out to local Atlanta publicists that specialize in fashion. When I was involved in PR several years ago, I joined several "Yahoo PR Groups". Among the members were fashion publicists who frequently shared information regarding upcoming fashion related events.
Project Casting (
www.projectcasting.com ) also frequently posts casting calls for fashion shows and other fashion related projects.
By reaching out to some of these people/sources, should give you an idea if Atlanta is the right place for you to reach your career goals.

Would the publicists know who does casting for fashion? Here in CLT, I know enough designers and producers that I just get personal calls and emails to walk in the shows --- is it the same over there? My network does not extend to ATL, and we don't have a major Public Relations industry here.
Do the modeling agencies have a strong presence there?
