Despite being a smaller area, the City of Atlanta is building more than any county in the metro area:

This is historic, and confirms with facts what has become pretty evident visually.

Certain parts of town will be hardly recognizable in a couple of years, as this is just starting...

The thing that's most striking to me is Forsyth County being up ahead of Fulton (excl. Atlanta) and Cobb and almost up with Gwinnet.

I just read somewhere else that the population in Forsyth is expected to double in the time frame, 2015-2030, from roughly 180000 to 360000 residents.

^Wow!

It's obvious the center of gravity is shifting north, but that's crazy.

It's about time. Seems like most of Atlanta's late 20th century growth was in the suburbs and not the city proper. It's about time the city caught up and expanded as well.

What's so special about Forsyth County that people are moving there? It seems like quite a drive from Atlanta.

If anyone is buying a home, please make sure the contractors pulled the proper permits and didnt do shady work that you will have to correct later. The permit or building department in the city of Atlanta has been allowing contractors to construct things that have not been properly done and leaving home owners in the dark. Don't close or sign anything until you are sure the contractors did your house correctly. Especially on the Westside.

Low crime rates and well-run schools. It's almost always about the schools, and Forsyth County has one of the best school districts in the country.
