Hi there, my husband has recently accepted a new position that has us relocating to Atlanta from Pennsylvania in a very short time frame. With that being said we will initially look to rent a home in the burbs as we will still
Own our home in PA as well. My husband will be working from home and I am an LMT and have found there are plenty of massage locations in all the suburbs so no real
Worry there. We have two boys ages 5+4 so great schools are important to us.

We have a budget of 2k for rent per month. With the hope to buy in 18months due to the time of year of the move and putting our home in PA on the market.
We enjoy the outdoors immensely- love water sports especially.
Prefer small quaint villages, but shopping, restaurants nearby.
We think we have narrowed our choices to suwanee, cumming and acworth but can't decide on the best one being that we won't have an opportunity to visit any of them before moving.

My husband will be in charge of the south east territory for his work so he will have to travel about 50. Percent of the time to nearby states either by car or plane. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

My wife and I are moving from Pa. to the Atlanta area on Friday, We picked the suburb of Acworth to move to, It's a nice area. Can't wait to get there and really explore everything, But from all our research on the areas we found Acworth to be the best, We are renting also and have a 3 year old daughter. For 2k you should be able to find a real nice place to rent. Good luck with your move.

Hi there, thanks for your response! How exciting to have a fellow Pa fam down there. My concern for acworth is that it seems as though it's really far removed from other suburbs north of Atlanta but I suppose if acworth has all the amenities we may never have to travel that way? Please keep me posted on the feel/vibe you get once there!! Thanks and goodluck to you guys '

Your picks are good. I'd add Woodstock to the list.

If I can ask, what made you guys decide on settling in acworth as opposed to any of the other areas? What stuck out to you ?
Thanks

My suggestion would be Alpharetta. Nearer to 400, good schools( did I say best ) and overall a good suburb to live.

Id agree, if your husband will be utilizing the airport a lot, I would check out peachtree city and newnan.

I have to agree with this poster about possible better locations if your husband is going to be in SE Georgia. I cannot see how anything north of I-20 much less northwest OTP could be a good idea unless you don't want to see him at all.

You should be good for rental prices so that's not an issue. You might even consider spending a weekend in an extended stay hotel just to give you enough time to drive around and see what you like.

Do you mean the southeast in general or southeast GA? That can make a difference because traffic can be very heavy
to the airport from Acworth.
Acworth blends right in to the city of Kennesaw and parts of Marietta (30064).
Both cities have options for outdoor activities. There is Kennesaw Mountain a national park with hiking, walking & nature trails and a civil war battle reenactment. There is also Swift Cantrell Park with walking trails, outdoor exercise and a skate park. Downtown Kennesaw has several local restaurants and activities as does Acworth.
Acworth is closer to the lake but even then Kennesaw is also very close.
Woodstock was mentioned as well. It is a nice city with lots of shopping and a quaint downtown and yet still in the suburbs.
