I see a lot of nice apartments in Atlantic Station. I'm considering one particular apartment complex, but I'd like feedback regarding the overall safety of this area?

Yes, but I would suggest you use the APD Crime Map and make your own conclusions. APD Zone 5

Haven't heard anything recently, but I used to hear nothing but horror stories about how terrible living in Atlantic Station is. Young adults pooling their money to cram into apartments none of them could otherwise afford, making noise all night long, being disrespectful, etc.

But I also heard complaints about how ghetto and dangerous Atlantic Station was. I've been going there on and off ever since it opened and I've never experienced a problem. So either I've been lucky, or the stories are overblown.

Maybe someone who has actually lived there or currently lives there can chime in.

It's fine. I came very close to doing so myself (only reason I didn't was the lack of availability of 2 bedroom condos at the time).

Most apartment properties have rules regarding the number of tenants that can occupy a unit. Typically this goes by the number of bedrooms. If I'm not mistaken, Studios are typically for 1 (or 2)people, 1 bedrooms are typically for 1, 2 (or 3 at max), while 2 bedrooms are typically for 1, 2, 3 or 4 at max.

I imagine that most of the problems are from teens and young adults who do not reside in the actual area.

In its earlier days, there were problems. But the new owners really ramped up security and it is safe (relatively) now. I wouldn't have many concerns at all.

The scary part is, this only includes reported crime.

Most of the "crime" is people stealing out the stores generally speaking. The other crimes are regular "street" crimes that you will find in most cities near urban areas. Overall it's safe. I'm sure if you look at crime around most malls nationwide it would be the same

That's the case everywhere though.
