MARTA has added Clayton County to its list of 'Planning Projects' along with all the other corridor studies. There's a decent amount of material available for perusing, but not much that wasn't shown in the more recent meetings.

I think it would be nice and Citizens would be happy just to see the basic Amenities done at this point, like a decent Coverage of Bus Shelters and benches before we even think about rail in Clayton County... I think a lot of people are just burned out with it at this point, Tired of requesting with no real results especially after all the recent Weather. Not to mention no were to sit.

Have you seen bus stops in Fulton and DeKalb? Majority of them are just a pole in the ground too. It's not like Clayton is getting forgotten because it's the junior member or demographics of the area. Why don't you and your other concerned neighbors start a grassroots effort, like MARTAArmy, and work with MARTA instead of demanding it for them? You catch more flies with honey instead of vinegar.

Not going to comment on this at this point. I have been to all the High Capacity Meetings and all the Citizens Complain and State the same thing at both and prefer marta just get the basics in order first, Shelters and benches. Its funny because both High capacity meeting turned out the same with the complaints going to just That, not to mention the Trash bags hanging on the side of poles looking like people, one lady made a major Joke out of that and had everyone in the meeting laughing, then things got extremely silent. The crazy part is Marta admits its fault in this department. Can't put all the blame on Marta though, a good bit goes to the Clayton County Commissioners as well as well as some of the Municipalities. Marta admits Clayton is lacking in this department specifically in Clayton County and it is due to Contract issue, not something that needs a Grass roots effort but correction between Marta, its Vender, the Cities in Clayton and the Commissioners so Clayton can get its due, all else is a Grass roots effort. There is no Vinegar being thrown here but a true Mess up that Marta admits to and needs to be resolved ASAP, this has gone on long enough and Clayton citizens deserve better.

The way the Clayton County sales tax was setup, 0.5% of it must go to high capacity transit. So by law, that money cannot be spent on bus stop upgrades.

Whts with all of this "High Capacity" talk???? Does Georgia Not no the diffrence between a Subway and a commutter train? The rail service into clayton is just an EXTENSION of the South SUBWAY line to Jonesboro...Simple. Albeit will run BESIDE regular train tracks but in its own right of way...Commuter rail is what travels far distances outside city limits...Subways travel to just beyond city limits or so. It just seems misleading to the public to keep mentioning the two modes together. MARTA could never run to say griffin or hampton as proposed with the commuter rail..Subways (MARTA) uses 3rd Rail for power as to comutter trains which would use actual locomotives...Just wanted to point this out

That is so Correct, its all about getting a separate Contact for Clayton with Out front Media or going with another Bus Shelter Advertiser/ Vendor at this point.

MARTA is trying to not follow in MTA's footsteps and screw up every project. Proper planning and community engagement is key to ensuring the product is done right the first time.
