White People Are in the Minority in Suburban Growth Demographic Projections - CityLab
Atlanta is seeing an increase of white people in both urban and suburban areas.
Large, diverse suburban counties will need to expand transit and social programs aimed to help lower income people.

The thing is, white people's proportion of the U.S. population is declining in general, whether suburban, urban or whatever. Look at the demographic projections in just the next 20 years or so.

It's nice to think so, but of course it doesn't really work that way. Even in the city, locations with good transit access tend to have a higher COL. In fact, as one element of gentrification, it can have the opposite effect: As transit options are improved, lower-income people are priced out.

Likewise, more low-income people doesn't entail higher spending on social programs, unless they start voting (and vote their wallets).

So how long do y'all think it will be until the city gets too white and people start moving out to the suburbs to experience the diversity there...?
