I'm not sure I see what one has to do with the other, but NFL says bill not in line with what they stand for.

Hrm, maybe the bill isn't so bad then. It'll keep the city from having to waste millions of dollars just so a bunch of overpaid spectacles can get concussions.

LOL. Well, that's an outlook to have! Very interesting article. I didn't realize hosting ends up being such a money pit.

I posted on this yesterday in the religious liberty thread. The article says two years ago the governor of Arizona vetoed a similar bill because the NFL said the state could lose the Super Bowl.

Looks like the NFL is jumping on the bandwagon.

Georgia anti-gay law could cost Atlanta a Super Bowl

B/C the NFL is a crock of ****. They are basically a politcal entity, doing the work of Washington. They do this and they get away with something else. They have their own PAC. Same reason Redksin cant get a new stadium b/c Obama doesnt like their name. Regardless of where you stand, the NFL is a potical machine

I completely agree with this; I think they're a political machine and much more. I mean, how does this bill directly affect the Super Bowl anyway??

Yeah! Bravo! Let's go ahead with a bill supporting discrimination so that we can keep the Super Bowl away.

From ESPN just minutes ago (7:21 PM Eastern Daylight Time):

"Georgia anti-gay bill's effect on Atlanta Super Bowl bids likely topic at owners meetings"

Quote:
Although the Super Bowl bids for the 2019 and 2020 season won't be awarded until May, the controversy surrounding Atlanta's desire to host the game seems likely to be discussed as the NFL owners gather in Boca Raton, Florida, this week.
