The site has 400,000 square feet of office space spread over nine office buildings.
“Emory takes a long-term, mission-oriented view when evaluating its real estate holdings,” Emory President James W. Wagner said, in a statement. “This significant parcel, which is in a location accessible to all of metro Atlanta, coupled with the fact that we have successful programs in Orthopaedics, Brain Health, Medical Science Education, Continuing Education and Health Information Technology already located in the Park, presented an extraordinary, once in a generation opportunity for Emory and the region.”

Waiting on the posts about how bad congestion already is at this location and how could local leaders allow them to build this, etc.

I'm reading that the Hawks are about to announce a partnership with Emory for a 90K sq ft practice facility here at 22 Executive Park Drive that will break ground in the summer. Official announcement at 2 pm today.

One of the reasons the area asked to be annexed by Brookhaven. DeKalb County had resisted efforts to build there. Still easier access than Clifton Road. But the I-85 intersection needs some serious re-thinking/re-working. Exiting traffic often causes issues on the main lanes, both north and south bound.

That is a GDOT issue, not DeKalb County. Even if the area is annexed, the issues will still exist.

You didn't understand what I was saying.

The landowners wanted to be annexed by Brookhaven because the landowners believed Brookhaven would let them do what they wanted to do while DeKalb was being less agreeable.

Executive Park has been abandoned by business over the last 20 years. There have been a number of office buildings torn down.

Sounds like an opportunity Emory couldn't refuse.

I agree that the I-85 intersection and the surface roads around there need some attention. NDH has some of the worst traffic in the ATL.

This would also be a great opportunity to kick the North Fork greenway into high gear.
