I need to insure a home and a car inside Atlanta and the perimeter. The only two companies that will do that, that I know of, both have the word "state" in their name. Are there any others that are reasonably priced and give good service?

I'm an Allstate customer and confirmed with my agent that my rates will be rising in May. Time to start shopping.

Did you get any kind of notice in the mail? I have Allstate, too, but haven't been given any kind of notice.

Really? There are so many insurance companies out there. Why are the two State's the only ones that will insure you?

Nope, no notice -- I sent my agent a link to the article in the AJC, and she confirmed that my rates will be rising in May because of that statewide change.

We got an email from our Allstate agent today. Allstate has three underwriters in GA. Only one of them applied for a rate hike. Our policies are not affected. Well, at least not this year!

Liberty Mutual does home and auto, too, but I don't know if the CoA or Fulton is some sort of special situation? I live in neither one.
