I have no idea how an equity like this would work.

If it's traded on NASDAQ, why wouldn't you be able to short it with options just like you can anything else? Does it have some kind of special rules governing it?

I've often wished I could invest in artists. I would've made a killing on the Spice Girls (knew they were gonna be huge) as well as Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Black Keys, and Death Cab For Cutie.

The Braves will be fine. The team, the franchise, the brand, the stock, will all be fine. Let's not make a huge deal of one day.

If you recall, we finished dead last in 1990, then went to the World Series in '91. We were terrible through most of the 80's, then won the division 14 straight times in the 90's and 2000's. I'm just saying, the way pro sports tends to work is you go thru horribly bad phases and rebuild from scratch. And I think they're looking at next season as the beginning of the new era.

Yep. The have given up on Atlanta and are now just catering to Cobb.

This weekend they skipped the Streets Alive festival that went right in front of Turner Field in order to promote at a smaller event in Kennesaw.

I'd love to invest to bring a minor league team to Atlanta so I can watch baseball again. They could share the old Fulton County diamond with GSU.

This is truly one of the saddest things ever.
Well, when you put it like that.

Man, was that area dead during ASA. It just shows how much they really care about promoting to CoA, when they choose to not promote an event that attracts tens of thousands to their front door.

What's the deal with the new Braves stock? - Talking Chop

tl;dr - Liberty Media is looking to raise additional capital to re-coup some of the expenses involved in the Suntrust Park development.

It probably didn't help that the team was playing in Miami that afternoon.

Yes, and the slight.. intended or not, was magnified in that the Braves instead chose to promote at a different, smaller event in Kennesaw over the weekend.
As for whether it was intentional or not, you be the judge...

They have community outreach teams that go into the community.
