I love MARTA too, but it doesn't need to be the primary topic of every thread
True this...but somehow the thread segued over to infill stations, Krog Street, et al.

'The Stitch' will be the 2nd greatest development project in Atlanta's future. Tied with the Gulch redevelopment.

#1 will be whenever Hulsey closes/sells...

Really, it'd be foolish not to capitalize on being one of the only (are there any others?) stations directly on the Beltline.

Or, Old Fourth Ward / Cabbagetown station. It would be the closest station to O4W's neighborhood boundaries. Right on the edge of it:

Or you could maybe rename Civic Center to Old Fourth Ward station.

Either way I feel like the ever-popular O4W should have a station named for it.

I like the name Krog Street Station. I think it would be ideal...and awesome for the area.

3) Avondale Station- Avondale yard and they needed large P&R lot as it was the end of the line.

And west Reynoldstown. Also it would have served Grant Park better, and been a much shorter walk to the King Center. And it wouldn't lose any coverage that it serves now.

Oops.

And yeah, it's a shame that Avondale station isn't halfway between Decatur and Kensington stations, where Avondale yard is. That would make all that quaint village area a TOD.

Also, Civic Center and North Avenue stations are like right next to each other. I wish we could move North Avenue Station up to 5th St, Midtown station up to 12th St, and then Arts Center up to 17th right at Pershing. That would also eliminate the need for another station for north Midtown.

I would not despair so much about the Avondale Station part. There is a possibility for improvement. Here is what I recommend:

1. Rename Avondale Station to Sycamore Station. The immediate area is "Sycamore This" and "Sycamore That." The station is at Sycamore Street and Sycamore Drive.

2. Build an infill station along North Clarendon Avenue as part of the Avondale Estates town village and call the new station the Avondale Estates Station.

I do think it's a shame that the stations aren't spaced ideally, or at the most ideal locations. If they were, there would be no need for most of these infills.
