Another debut series showing promise: Queen Sugar on OWN. I caught the first episode last Tuesday and loved it. It's filmed in and around New Orleans.

Not sure I expected what I saw in the first two episodes, then again I wasn't completely sure what I was expecting, maybe a coming of age story, don't know. Regardless, the show has this slightly edgy and real vibe to it, so I'll continue to watch to see how the story-line developments.

Really? That scene on MARTA bus with the guy and his sandwich nearly killed me from laughter. Not just because of the raw comedy of it, but random stuff happens like that on MARTA all the time. It's a bit of day to day Atlanta city life that you could only know from actually living in it.

The first episode just felt like a pilot. The 2nd one felt like how they went the show to truly be.

The scene with the guy on the bus was hilarious though.

Yes. The cinematic shots alone are worth watching the show.

Considering some of the shows that have been linked to Atlanta (reality shows) I came across this show by accident and it was refreshing enough to keep me watching for that episode.
Will be watching more.

I hate the name. ATLANTA. Really? How lame ... I mean, it just makes the city seem small town and provincial IMO. But then, I hate how they tag "Atlanta" onto the title of all the reality shows just for marketing purposes. It seems cheap and easy to me.

Of course, if there were a "CSI: Atlanta" I'd prolly feel differently ...

Did you have such a visceral reaction to Dallas in 1978?
