Music Midtown’s 25th anniversary lineup has been unveiled, and it’s aiming toward a demographic that probably wasn’t alive when the popular festival was hatched in a lot along Peachtree Street.

Headliners include eccentric rapper Travis Scott, pop rockers Vampire Weekend, Charlie Puth, Billie Eilish, Lil Yachty, Lord Huron, and Panic! at the Disco, which also performed in 2015..."

Let the kids have their fun. As long as they don't tear things up I don't see a problem.

Lord Huron sounds otherworldly in person. I remember catching them in Rhode Island once. I'm sure Atlanta will welcome them right. I have a 1-music-festival-per-year-limit and have already purchased Afropunk tickets. We've got some good acts coming to all these festivals. Nice.

I haven’t heard of 95% of the bands on this lineup, unlike past years. Hard pass.

I know that I'm a little old now for new bands, but - that said - I feel like we haven't seen sustained big bands since the 90s, maybe some in the 2000s.... I mean bands, like Coldplay (like them or not) have been around for almost 20 years now, but they seem to be an exception in the 21st Century sadly.

Panic at the Disco was formed in 2004 so they are 15 years old. They are riding a new recent high lately. It hasn’t been long enough since 2010 bands are formed to see which are still going strong but there a several bands that consistently put out great albums and have sold out tours. Music is consumed differently now so it’s harder to have one or two standout bands that take all the attention. There is a lot of niche music genres now. I think Imagine Dragons (love or hate them) seem to be one that will have been from that era that sticks around. Just editing to add - Maroon 5 who always have a top album and singles.

I wouldn't call it a poop lineup. I would say this Music Midtown is definitely targeted for younger audiences. There are a lot of crayz popular artists in this lineup.

It just seems to have kind of changed from what used to be a largely rock and alternative lineup to a largely Top 40 pop lineup. I could be making that up.
