What have they did to empower their own community? If its all about themselves, big deal.

From the title, I could’ve sworn it was going to be TI and Killer Mike...

...instead, it’s NYC and Gwinnett county

1) Tbh I thought she was from the South or the West. I'm pretty shocked to hear this. And yes, celebrity influence is a real thing.

2) Yes!!! Gotta give love. Love her and AOC representing BX.

3) It wasn't easy to find stuff on Cardi B and I don't want to assume just because I wasn't able to find something that she doesn't do more. Some donate in private.

I think you were referring to Cardi B and the other rapper. Cardi B has also been a staunch supporter of Bernie Sanders and I know it's a stretch but this man could use the support. For the "community," I would say that criminal justice reform/ending the war on drugs would HUGELY empower many blacks, Hispanics, etc. Her mentioning his name in 2016 and for 2020 puts him in the spotlight for many youths who may not have taken the time to even look him up.

4) I have heard TI does a lot for Atlanta...pretty surprised he's not on the list.

Yeah, Cardi B has that ol' Atlanta accent.... Anyone would mistake her for a local ATL rapper.

If it’s in the papers or on the Internet it’s true. Cardi B is from ATL.

She might as well be. She really can pass for ATL (her accent).

Lol. Cardi talks like a Latinx from the Bronx.

Why hasn’t any New Yorkers swooped in here and corrected the madness going on in the thread?

Y’all out of pocket.

If Cardi B is living here why shouldn't she be considered an ATL rapper? If AOC moved down here I'd consider her an ATLien as well.

For Pete's sake, we should be diverse enough to accept a Bronx accent.
