Man, the condition of Piedmont is embarrassing.

Dangerous, too, with all those axle-busting potholes.

Will this ever get re-paved? It's one of the main arteries of the city.

Piedmont needs a heckuva lot more than fixed potholes. From the I-85 Overpass to Peachtree, it's one of the homeliest stretches of road in north Atlanta.

Piedmont Road and many other roads for that matter. I remember a couple of years ago there was a major road improvement project on some main arteries but clearly those projects didn’t go far enough.

Piedmont road between Peachtree and 14th needs attention. In addition to pot holes it is not a welcoming road once you get away from Piedmont Park. It feels like a barrier in Linbergh with all those traffic lanes and minimal sidewalks. It gets better once you get to central Buckhead. But it is so unsightly.

There have actually been a whole lot of repaving projects going on lately. Spring, West Peachtree, 14th, etc.

It does...then it's 'downhill' from there.
It's not all bad news, though.

Paces Properties, in partnership with Austin-based Bunkhouse Group, is reopening the old Intown Suites hotel as a retro-style boutique. I've been to one of the sister properties in San Francisco (The Phoenix) and loved it. The backside of the property facing Piedmont is also being redeveloped.

The shabby strip center with impossible parking (and where Woof's is located) has been sold and will likely be torn down soon. Hopefully this will have a Domino Effect on the surrounding development.

The Piedmont Corridor is the only weak link left in the nearly complete redevelopment of Lindbergh; it's bound to get in lockstep with the surrounding area sooner nor later.

Didn't Tex McIver claim his gun went off because they hit a pothole on Piedmont? That was one of the more credible aspects of the story.

True. It was the cover-up aspect of the case that brought him down.

Drive your profusely bleeding wife to the least convenient hospital in the area.
Call everyone you know to edit their version of the story.
Sell off every tangible asset belonging to your wife before her body is cold.

Recipe for disaster. Damn, man.
