How is crime in NE Atlanta? What is the safest area that is reasonably priced?
(by NorthEast Atlanta I mean outside the 285 from 400 to the Stone Mountain area)

Generally, the NE metro is a good and safe area.
What is 'reasonably priced' to you?

Under $200,000 for a good home.

I would suggest Tucker; safe, well-located (just outside I-285), and up-and-coming.

Generally it would be a 30 minute commute from Tucker to downtown.

Yeah, Tucker is very convenient to the City and a lot of the close-in nicer areas of town. There are also several ways to go that avoid the freeways. I have always liked Tucker, and it will be even nicer once they start on the re-do of their little downtown.
