I was just wondering if any of you think that a highspeed rail line would connect Atlanta with Savannah and Coastal Georgia providing Atlanta (prob 1 to 1/1/2 hours closer to the beaches). Money is already being set aside for the proposed route to Chattanooga. I think if this happens, the problem of not being close enough to the coast can be resolved, you can just hop on the train and be there and back in no time. Then If only they can get one going to the Gulf Coast now that will be even better!

Currently, the proposal looks like there will be a line from Atlanta through Macon and to Savannah, which will connect to the line that runs from Jacksonville to Raleigh.
