I will be moving to the Atlanta area in a few months with my husband and children. I would like to know which areas are considered family friendly and safe. We would also like a great school district. We can afford no more than 1300 a month for housing and would like a suburban neighborhood. Public schools are fine. My husband will be commuting to work in downtown Atlanta. He is willing to drive 30-45 mins. We would like to live in a diverse community.

Thanks!

I'm certain you will receive more informed responses but in general terms you might consider 'Symrna and Dunwoody'.

I second Dunwoody, and you might also look into part of Chamblee. I have been hearing good things about Montgomery Elementary school recently.
