Hi there,
I recently purchased a 2006 Audi A4 with 93k miles, I also purchased the basic warranty with it for $2550 covering 24 months. Can't decide if it's necessary...
I don't know much about the reliability of Audi/specific model, didn't have much time to research and needed a car.

One of my friends has had Audi cars. They aren't cheap to fix when they break. I'd keep the warranty so long as it covers the full 24 months.

Yes, and extend it for as long as you own the car. My brother in law has a 09 a4 with 40k on it and its in the shop getting work done frequently. mostly electrical components.. Audis are fun cars but you pay for it
My thoughts. Keep the warranty, give back the car. Yer about to find out why you don't see many high mileage older Audis on the road. Make sure to keep a good pair of walking shoes in the car and take yer banker to lunch. You'll need both soon.
I had a 2005.5 (the year they switched the engines & did a exterior restyle mid year) and wish I had gotten as long of a warranty as possible. I won't go into the plethora of problems but will offer the words of advice I did not heed- 'never own a German car out of warranty.'
It was a great little car but I feel like I paid for it twice...
As long as that third party extended warranty is legit. If not cancel it and find a different one. 2006 Audi A4 with nearly 100k, needs the timing belt changed if it hasn't been done yet. Look on the block to see if the shop put a sticker on it with the date of replacement.
