We know that this stuff is not unique to Augusta, but YOU're the one calling for the place to grow "to the next level", in your own words.

Exatriado, I don't believe Augusta is the ONLY victim to things you suggested. Many towns, included my former glory Home State, City of Detroit went to ruins. All with best intentions. I don't believe it is limited just to one particular state or city . it is just a matter of what is done about it that makes things change.

I think if you want change and make an effort to be proactive...change can come. You have to be willing to wait and make an active effort is all.

I believe Norton chooses to look at the positives and potentials then focus on what hasn't work in the past because he'd rather see the future as to what it is trying to become. I could be completely wrong, but this is how I view it.

Things you should know before moving to Augusta...... The beautiful town has big city space and promise, but tue commission has there own personal agendas and motives that they can't do their job. As a result of years of this mess, here lies the product you see before you on today. Ugh maybe the rain is making me a sour guy today.

I feel the same way I wish the taxpayers can be in control of the hiring and firing. The only thing they doing is making everybody else life miserable by cutting jobs left and right so they can get a fat bonus at end of the year

Is Augusta, GA a good place to live as far as jobs and the cost of apartment rentals? I figure it would be expensive b/c it's right near ATL. Does Augusta have that southern feel like Savannah has?

What makes you think it's right next to ATL? It's 2 and a half hours on a GOOD day, which is rare. Macon is actually much closer.

And IMHO ATL does not have that "southern feel". It feels like someone uprooted the city of Detroit and dropped it in the middle of the South.

Atlanta is nothing like Detroit. If I had to pick a city to compare it to it be Chicago, or Baltimore. Detroit has been a **** hole in the wall, defunct, barren, and no downtown business since the 70s.

Atlanta no way resembles Detroit.
