whether you realize or not, those folk on OldPetersburgRoad are getting screwed comin and goin. Not a point YOU should bring to this and no vote was taken. Actually, from what Ive learned, false traffic counts could have been used to get that road.

and ever bodies LOSING MONEY on this deal

Thats exactly why I brought it up.....CC citizens were not given a chance to vote on that project, as well as countless others. The same for RC and AC.

Sounds to me like you think its a good idea for all construction projects be put to a vote. that may work in very small towns but again we'd constantly be taking off work if we had to turn around and vote on every construction project...especially people in big cities like ATL etc.

I agree completely. Any little squabble can't/shouldn't be put to referendum.

I also agree that people who live in the affected area should have known a project like this was going to happen at some point or another. Progress is good. If you don't like it... then the simple solution is to move away from populated areas? Rather than holding the rest of the community back.

Ahem... Project Jackson.... Public Funding????? IMHO... deserving of a vote

Walmart in Sweetwater.. no vote that needed... that's a private affair

I'll ask again with regard to Project Jackson.... if it's that great and has that much support why not put it to a vote, if the referendum passes then you silence the opposition?

I think TPTB are afraid of allowing this....

BTW Project Jackson doesn't seem a little squabble in my view

Again you will be setting a bad precedent if we had to put every project put to a vote that involved some form of government involvement. When are all of these votes supposed to take place. Or are we just supposed to do a special vote for Project Jackson just because some don't like it.

If you don't like the projects that your elected officials are planning...then you should vote them out during election...thats your chance to vote.

I understand you can't vote on every project but I think one the size and scope of Project Jackson is not an everyday occurrence...

You are correct in that citizens will have a chance to vote when elected officials are begging for votes...

This project isn't going to happen! It if does, prepare yourself for a lesser scaled back version of its former self.

The planning commission approved plans for the new Greenjackets ballpark, but it still has a ways to go before construction will begin. I honestly still don't see how this park can be ready in time for the 2017 season. I think 2018 is more realistic at this point.
