Fort Gordon is truly going to be a hive of activity with all of the planned construction...

The 116th Military Intelligence Brigade, a new Army unit (previously named the Aerial Intelligence Brigade), has modified a building previously used for National Security Agency operations, he said.
For the 7th Cyber Protection Brigade, several buildings across the installation are being renovated to create classified space for their mission, Anderson said. Recently purchased temporary buildings are also being used.
Eventually, cyber protection teams that comprise the brigade will consolidate into a two-phase, $90 million addition to the John Whitelaw Building, which also houses National Security Agency-Georgia.
“We’re talking 2020 before that’s done. We had to have about a five-year plan to house the cyber protection teams,” Anderson said. “We did that about as inexpensively as could be done by repurposing existing classified workspace.”
Another $15 million addition to the Whitelaw Building is nearing completion, Anderson said. It is not part of Army Cyber Command operations, he said.
“The NSA facility, when they built it, they realized they didn’t have enough space,” Anderson said. “So they built an additional wedge onto the existing campus.”

According to the “presolicitation” posted on FedBizOpps.gov on Dec. 18, the Army Corps of Engi*neers’ Savannah District plans to issue an invitation to bid for the Cyber Command’s new Command and Control Facility with a Cyber Protection Team Opera*tions facility to be built on the installation.
Both facilities are expected to be built using Sensitive Compart*mented Information Facility and Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism for Buildings standards, and are to be designed to last a minimum of 50 years.
One structure will house the Ar*my Cyber Command/Joint Forces Headquarters, and the other will provide an administrative area that includes “special use space for a SCIF and forensic lab.” The latter will also include food service and physical fitness areas.
The $100 million to $250 million figure is only an estimate. The first solicitation isn’t anticipated to be released before Feb. 3. The Step 1 solicitation is expected to close on or about March 4, with Step 2 being issued on or about May 27, closing on June 27, according to the post.
The projects will likely be awarded during the 2016 and 2017 fiscal years and are expected to be completed about 720 calendar days from the notice to proceed, the post said.

It will be interesting to see what the post looks like once this construction is done. Also if there is another BRAC round in 2019, I have a feeling that Ft Gordon will be a good position to gain even more missions.

I agree, it now makes perfect sense for Net-Com, the 2RCC, or both to move to Gordon especially with the talent that the area will start to produce.
