Ranked second in the state of Georgia...
Quote:
According to Allstate Insurance Company’s 11th annual “America’s Best Drivers Report,” Augusta moved up 10 spots from its ranking last year to 82nd-safest among the 200 largest cities in the U.S. with a minimum estimated Census population of 50,000 people. In Georgia, Augusta, which has a population of 196,741 residents, is ranked second-safest among the four cities surveyed.
The study, which was released this month and uses Allstate claims data to determine the annual rate at which car collisions occur in a city, ranked Augusta 92nd-safest last year, and 88th in 2013.
For the first time in the report’s history, the top honor of “America’s Safest Driving City” went to Kansas City, Kansas.
“By providing this information annually, Allstate and our agency owners across the country strive to bring drivers and communities together to talk about driving safety and consider solutions to keep our roads safer,” said Jim Ledder, Allstate’s vice president of auto claims.
Allstate, which writes nearly one in 10 U.S. auto insurance policies, reviewed millions of records and factored in traffic volume, population and weather conditions to develop its annual report, the company said.

Based only on Allstate claims? State Farm insures roughly double the amount of vehicles as Allstate, so I'd love to see where we rank when that is taken into account.

Can this info really be true? Just ride the town and see some of the antics drivers pull. Maybe a broader search of insurance data would help get the true figures out.

Maybe they pull these "antics" more in other cities. Who knows.
