Has anyone heard of this subdivision that is supposed to be going up at Escarpment and SH45(Mopac)? I heard something a year ago but haven't heard anything since. Thought the real estate agents might know about it.

Looks like they are starting to build this. Has anyone heard anything more about it?

To all the realtors out there, they started clearing the roads for this six months ago on SH 45 in SW Austin and then stopped. Anyone know the status on this new subdivision? Seems like the economy must have slowed them down.

What? This doesn't make sense, why will it not get approval? I heard it is just delayed because of the economy, it's already been approved.

I couldn't get that link to work, but just did a google and came up with the same information.

Looks like the City Watershed Protection and Development Review Department recommended that the application not be approved. Given the department in question, and the fact that it was in the Barton Springs Zone, I'm guessing that they didn't meet the requirements for not mucking about with our water supply recharge zone or something like that.

This just shows the staff has recommended it not be permitted. Who ultimately issues the permits for these things here? Has that regulatory body met to vote on the project yet?

Don't know - was wondering that myself. So far I can't find anything more current than that, though I can find things older than that, on the project.

This will probably still move forward since they already started clearing for the roads. They wouldn't have done that unless they already had the go ahead. It's probably just delayed.

Sure hope they figured a way around the aquifer situation, then, if that's the reason for the recommendation not to approve. Oh, heck, we don't need clean water, anyway, though, do we, as long as we have lots and lots and lots of houses?
