Any advice?
I'm looking for any kind of place from visiting a village, hiking or doing activities.
Just a nice excursion to spend a whole day with my family, without having to drive forever.

Thank you in advance

I second these recommendations - and I'll add:

- Pedernales Falls State Park (keep a close eye on the kids)
- Inks Lake State Park
- Longhorn Caverns State Park
- Marble Falls
- San Marcos (incl. Aquarena and WonderWorld)
- Wimberley

Enchanted Rock is a nice place, but due to this heat right now, that granite would probably melt the soles of your shoes / flip-flops / sandals. lol

LOL... that's probably true - I've never thought of that. Obviously, I don't go outside in the summer. Not to mention, you'd turn into a lobster pretty quickly.

You have a lot of great suggestions above but also add Llano for Cooper's BBQ and a swim in the river! I also loved going to Gruene to the Grist Mill and walking around the cute town.

I thought it was going to be a real grist mill.

Krause Springs. Spring-fed swimming pool, rope-swing, picnicking, hiking, camping. It's tough to imagine a successful "Central Texas in July" family day without incorporating water! It's in Spicewood which I believe is some 30 mi. from Austin.

Second this, spent the 4th of July there. Awesome swimming hole. We're going to head back and camp this time next month.
