AustinGuy/AT -

I read AustinGuy's post about Oakville Grocery being bought out by Dean and DeLuca. I did a little research and here's what I found:

http://www.supermarketnews.com/2007/03/21/dean-deluca-owner-to-buy-oakville-grocery-co/ (broken link)

According to the article, the owner of D&D intends to keep Oakville as its own brand (yay, because Oakville Grocery is a Napa Valley mainstay - over 150 years old).

So maybe it'll still be an oakville Grocery up at the Domain. Their website is down, so who knows. I'd love to have both it AND a Dean and DeLuca. I know some people will shoot me for this, but you can't find foie gras anywhere in Austin and D&D sells it.

I'm almost positive the sign I saw at the Domain was Oakville.

Yeah, all this stuff with Oakville & Dean and Deluca just happened, so I bet they haven't had time to figure out what they're doing with their store at The Domain. The Domain store was to be the first Oakville store outside of California I think.

Smile Oakville Grocery opening in Austin in July

Just found out that Oakville Grocery is opening their new store at The Domain in Austin in July. It will be great to have an Oakville store here in Austin. They say it will be bigger than the one in Oakville. The sandwiches and cheeses are amazing! Glad we won't have to travel so far to enjoy a bit of the wines and foods from Napa Valley.

Default Oakville Grocery In Austin Is Opened

The Long Awaited Oakville Grocery Opened In Austin This Week. The Store Is Fantastic! I Was Able To Buy Products Found No Where Else In Town. They Have A Wonderful Patio. Nothing Like Napa But You Could Not Replicate That Piece Of History. They Do Have Very Nice Napa Wines. It Is A Nice Addition To The Austin Landscape.

The new Oakville is very cool. I found out from the employees that this location is not owned by Dean & Deluca or Oakville. It is actually a local company that licensed the "Oakville Grocery" name only and has done a good job at recreating the concept here in Austin.

They also have THE yummiest pizzas. We used to walk down for lunch a lot (they have another location in Healdsburg). I had no idea that they were coming to Austin of all places! It's like we are being followed

You used to "walk down for lunch"! I rode my bicycle down the Oakville grade once and my brakes were burning before hitting the long level straightaway. I was young and foolish then...I'm not young anymore
