Hi,

My husband and I are very possibly moving from a small town about an hour north of Dallas to Austin sometime this spring. I sell real estate here so I'm familiar with everything in my area - however, looking in an area that I know nothing about, I feel a little lost. We are in our 30's, married couple without kids, just one really big dog so while schools are super important, I would love to have a great yard as well as possibly be near neat areas that the dog and I could go walking in. I like newer homes for energy efficiency but at this point we're not ruling anything out. We currently live on Lake Texoma so we enjoy taking our boat out, riding scooters, etc - when I was driving around I could not seem to find areas that were conducive to these activities. It's not necessary that we be right on the lake like we are right now...Driving to the lake is no big deal. What areas would you recommend? My husband will be working in North East Austin so something within a 30 minute drive preferrably.

Thanks in advance!!

If you're not comfortable mentioning hubby's employer, let us know the nearest highway intersection. North East Austin is likely to mean different things to different posters. Could make a world of difference in commute times and neighborhoods recommended. You'll likely hear from some folks mentioning Pflugerville, Manor, Round Rock or even Georgetown, depending on the actual location of your husband's office.
