I've got a new cooktop coming in. It's a few inches smaller than the last one so I'll need some way to fill in the holes on either side. I had thought a piece of metal cut/shaped to fit could do a nice job. Could also extend it to cover the first six inches or so of the backsplash.

Who does this kind of work?

For all things Metal - you might want to try Brady Foster. He's an amazing artist. But I had him do the hinges on some large custom metal doors on my property - great work and a great guy. http://www.bradyfoster.com/Site/HOME.html

As another idea (I'm also considering a kitchen remodel) a piece of shatterproof glass is very easy to clean. Can be made in a vibrant color to pick up accents, and with some design can even have light coming from behind it to provide some nice glow. Good luck!
