Default Tctcm

Oldest school in the state = just about to open a new clinic.

In my experience, they're a good price, and great service.

Best of all, they don't teach - or practice - "New Age" crap - it's not the latest fad or whatever it is that they came up with in California.

Now,there's another school, one up north - they used to teach "Medical Qigong." With my own eyes, I saw the textbook they used - it included, among its techniques, the creation of a "doll" of the patient, for use in remote healing - sort of like benevolent voodoo.

Ask any Chinese about this kind of thing - they'll tell you it's not real - stick to old-school acupuncture and herbs (TCTCM) and you'll be fine

I was impressed with it when I toured it a few years ago. The problem is actually finding a job with a degree like that.

I think it would be great for someone already in the healing sector (i.e. massage therapist, PT, OT etc...) But yea, on its own, pretty tough.

I guess this is a good place to ask: are there good acupuncturists in Austin? Anyone that you recommend?

In CA, there's 3 within every block and it's really hard to tell who's good and who isn't. I finally found someone AWESOME after looking for 3 years. And now I'm moving. ARGH!

This is not necessarily true because I do see acupuncture job offered on acupuncturetoday.com quite often with decent starting salary. The offers might be out-of-state areas but it's worth a shot.

I graduated from Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2 years ago and have been in practice since then. TCTCM has taught me the essence of Chinese Medicine, which has been useful along with my practice. I highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking to study in REAL Chinese Medicine.

I've been a student for two years and I am more and more impressed every semester. The facilites continue to improve and the teachers are simply the best around. Plus, the school is located in the best part of Austin.
