We recently moved from NW and hardwood in kitchen was commonplace in our neighborhood and we are thinking about getting hardwood in kitchen again.

Any recommendations/experiences with hardwood in kitchen in Austin houses? Is it good in Austin weather? How does it affect house resale?

Thanks!

We are building now and decided to put it in our kitchen. EVERYONE is doing tile these days so we wanted something more unique. Tile is cold and the grout is so hard to clean. People will tell you to worry about water, etc. But, I wouldn't worry about it unless you dump water all over your floor on purpose.
