What is the neighborhood called around Mt. Bonnell? (Austin, Highland Park: for sale, houses)

I recently came to Austin and this weekend drove through Mt. Bonnell from 2222 down to 35th st. Wonderful neighborhood (not the million+ lake side homes, but the smaller midcentury and 70s ranches). Any name for this neighborhood, or clue on pricing? There didn't seem to be many for sale (or any, really).

Last time I checked (about 2 yrs ago), a couple of the only houses for sale were 700K+, but they had nice large lots. Lots of midcentury / early 60s style. Very Austin-y vibe with hills, mature trees and a bit of overgrowth kind of creating a canopy effect (we love our trees here, and are reluctant to cut down even the scrub... sometimes to a fault.) I always imagined that area to be where the UT Professors lived, back when Austin was tiny...

There is a little section of the neighborhood just south of 2222 & Balcones (near mopac & the fire station) with much smaller homes. They may be as little as $300K, but that might be for a 2/1 or something that backs to Mopac. Can't beat the location though.

Highland Hills and the older part of NW Hills (just north of 2222) is a bit less expensive, and has a very similar feel.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the area is what I hope to buy one day. I never thought I'd want that sort of 60s Brady Bunch look, but that neighborhood does it in a way I've never seen before. I imagine comfortable sunken living rooms, enclosed back yards, etc. Thanks for the tip.

I think he was refering to the North West Hills....Mesa Drive runs north from 2222 right there
