Many therapists have their own styles and theories they work on. Political values should not be a topic of conversation with therapists as it would be unethical for them to discuss these, unless, for some reason you are seeking treatment for political reasons. Religion and new age will come up a lot with counselors as its just within the treatment model of many therapists. Ask about theoretical background and you'll get a better idea as if they will fit what you are looking for. You may also want to contact your insurance company.
