Have you picked out a church yet? Gateway Community Church is a very Austin-y church that has great music (band members/performers from the Austin music scene).

When deciding whether or not to move to Austin, I was "won over" by a friend with a drive down 2222 and bbq at County Line on the lake.

My favorite Tex-Mex choice: Matt's El Rancho on Lamar. Great restaurant, excellent food, a true Austin tradition.
Their lunch Brisket tacos are yummy!!

Thank you for all the awesome suggestions. We won't get to everything this trip, but we went to Matt's last night and loved it. I can't believe the Urban Dare is 90 bucks or we'd do it. We think we'll go hiking today and drive around for the scenic eye candy, etc. Thanks!!

That Urban Dare looks like so much fun! Is anyone here on the forums going to participate?
